Official Manchester City FC Apps Blog

Like it? Got an idea?

We’ve had loads of feedback on the app, most of it quite positive and following the update (version 1.1 now available in the App Store) it would be good to hear what your thoughts are of the CityLive section, highlights and other sections?

There have been alot of people asking for an Android version and we are looking to use the learnings from the iPhone to develop an android app but we have no definate release date as yet. We’ll keep you posted.

As always we want your ideas for what else we should put into this and other mobile apps as well as feedback, so either leave a comment here or email us at

The app’s first day

Hi all,

We’re delighted at the response the cityapp received on the whole yesterday. Thank you for all your feedback and we are glad you are enjoying it!

Here’s the link if you don’t have it yet - buy cityapp from the AppStore.

Of course, if you were using it to access information during last night’s game you would have encountered some issue for which we apologise.

We know what caused the problems and will endeavour to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

As ever, keep your feedback and thoughts coming it. They really are useful to us!

And it’s live!

We’re delighted to announce that the official MCFC iPhone app is now available from the iTunes store - get it here!

Many thanks to Lee from Aqueduct who submitted the app to Apple for review on Friday…it’s exciting!

No feedback yet, but fingers crossed they give us the green light soon…

Last night’s testing session was a great success…

Thanks to everyone who came along to try out the app last night.

It was a really useful and productive session with lots of ideas-swapping and great feedback.

You’ll see some footage of the workshop on here and very soon!

Test the City iPhone app this Wednesday at CoMS

Hi everyone,

We have a limited number of places available for people to come along and test out the City app this Wednesday here at the City of Manchester Stadium.

It’s going to be an informal session and will start at approximately 5.30, lasting no more than an hour.

Both myself and Victoria Stansfield our Digital Delivery Manager will be on hand to talk you through the features of the app and give you a chance to test it out and provide feedback. We’re also aiming to film the evening for citytv.

Places are strictly first come, first served and very limited so if you’d like to come along, please email to book your place asap.

Video: Match report and highlights

Hi guys,

Hope you’ve all had a great festive period and new year!

Here’s a little video showing you the Matches section of the app including the fixtures, league table, match report and match highlights.

As ever, we’d love to hear what you think!

Chris @ MCFC

PS - Sorry if you were hoping to try it out at either the Villa/Blackpool games, it’s going to be the Wolves game on the 15th when we do it now :-)

Test the app at an upcoming game!

Hi guys,

We’re going to be giving fans the chance to test out the app before either the Aston Villa or Blackpool games over the festive period.

We’ll post more information here once we’ve sorted out the logistics so if you want to be one of the first to try it out, keep on checking the blog!

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Chris and Vix @ MCFC

Designs: Matches

Hi guys,

Here are some screenshots of the matches section of the City App containing Results, Fixtures and the League Table in both vertical and horizontal views.

What do you think of these designs so far?

Hi Guys,

We are making good progress with the City app, so we have a quick update for you.

This particular video shows how the user navigates through the Blues News section. We have tried to make this as intuitive as possible with all the latest content easily accessible through the filter tab.

As ever, please keep your comments and feedback coming.

We’ll be back soon with more.
